Dementia is a broad term used for the cognitive loss of thinking, remembering and reasoning. It is usually the elderly that are affected but Early Onset Dementia can also affect younger people, some being diagnosed as young as thirty.
Different types of dementia can affect people in different ways but sufferers will generally experience difficulty in concentration, find daily tasks, such as shopping, hard to do, have frequent mood changes, be confused and suffer from memory loss. Surroundings that should be familiar can become unrecognisable. All in all, those diagnosed with any form of Dementia will struggle to do things that they previously wouldn't think twice about. This makes things difficult when out in public.
Carrying an Awareness Card can help. It shows that the holder suffers from Dementia and that they might need help.
They are credit card sized so will fit easily into a purse or wallet, alternatively you can have them on display via a lanyard or card clip. They are personalised with the holders name shown on the front and two emergency contacts on the back of the card.
We design all of the ID cards ourselves so if you want any of the wording changed then that's not an issue. You can either leave a note in the box when you purchase or alternatively, pop a message over via the contact tab and lets work out a new card together. Our tag line is Every Card Imaginable for a reason!
