For a boy with type 1 diabetes, blood sugar levels can shift without warning, and as a parent it's hard when he's not right next to you. The card lets teachers or friends see he's diabetic if something comes up, so they can reach for snacks or contact help.

It has no personal information, only the medical note, which keeps things secure if he drops it.
